Satistics Canada new Housing Price Index

Regina showing highest price increases in Canada

Statistics Canada just released its New Housing Price Index, quoting that new housing has increased at ir's slowest pace in over 6 years.

It is interesting to note that the largest gains in home prices was in Regina, Sask., at 28.5%, with Victoria actually showing a decline of 0.4%.

The next Metropolitan area to show substantial increase at 22.2%, was St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrrador which showed a larger increase than Saskatoon, Sask. since December 2005.

 Vancouver was up 1.8% June 2007 to June 2008, with no change from May to June 2008.
